First Time Climbing? Here's What to Know

Climber reaching for a hold at Vertical Dreams “Is there an age limit for rock climbing?”

It depends on the climber, but anyone can try climbing. The youngest we commonly see is 4 to 5 years old.

“How long will it take me to learn how to belay?”

We can teach most people to do this well in under an hour (usually about 30 minutes with our supervision).

“Do I have to make a reservation?”

No. We accept walk-ins during any regular business hours.

“Can I schedule a group before business hours?”

If you have a large group, it is best to call and make a reservation. Groups can be scheduled before regular business hours.

“How tall is your tallest wall?”

70 vertical feet!

“What is your waiver policy?”

All customers must have a signed Vertical Dreams waiver on file. Anyone under 18 must have this waiver signed by their parents. Relatives or other adults cannot sign on their behalf.

“How long are memberships valid for?”

A 1-month membership bought on July 14 would be valid until August 14.

“What do I need to do to climb the 70-foot wall?”

For safety reasons, we do not let beginners use this area. If you take the beginner lesson, you must wait until your second visit to use this area. We reserve the right to deny this privilege to anyone we feel is not ready.

“Do you have Air Conditioning?”

Of course we do.
